描述： Type—No. 375 adult male, Yen-wo-t’ang (燕窝塘), Chao-chiao-hsien,(昭觉县), Sikang; 11,000 feet altitde; May 4, 1942. Diagnosis:—Very small warts on the back, no bars on the limbs; bellynot marbled; toes adout one fourth webbed; a pair or oblique-fy elongated spiny areas on either side of the chest; finespines on the margin of the lower jaw and a more or lesscircular spiny area on the median ventral side of the lowerjaw, black spines with elevated basis on the tympanic andshoulder fegions, the elbow of the arm, dorsal aiae of thehind limbs and the lateral sides of the fifth toe and theouter side of the tourth toe. Desription of the type:— Tongue elliptical, free behind and slightly notched, vomerine teeth lacking. Head mouerately large, slightly broauer long; snout founded; canthus feebly indicateu; loreal region oblique and flat; nostrils ratner near to the eye and the inteinasal space adout equal the interorbital space; whien os slightly broauer tnan upper eye-liu; length of eye about equal to the internasal apace; tympanum ;acking. Fingers long and slender, first barely longer than the second, with nuptial spine on the inner dorsal sides of the lirst and the second fingers. Subarticuiar tubercles developed; an inner large and an outer sinaher palmar tubercie well developed. Arm rather long,length of the lower arm to the tip ot the tnird finger nearly half of the body length and its diameter about one tenth of the body length; many small rounded, lignt-colored warts on the anteriovetral aides of upper and lower arms; and smafl warts with black spines on the dorsl siaes of the upper and lower arms, especially at- the elbow region. Hind limb rather short, tibio tarsal articulation reaching the angle of the mouth; hesls do not meet placed at right anflss te the body; tibia adout 42% of the body length. Webs between all the toes, about one fourth webbed; all the toes fringed, with a row of black spones on the outer and inner fringes of the fifth toe and cnly the outer fringe of the fourth toe; subarticular tubercles developed but not bery distincd rod-like and greatly elevated, and its length is about 5% of the body length; outer metatarsal tub rcle lacking. Skin of the back with small flattened warts; warts on the shoulder region and on the dorsal sides of the limbs with black spine Length from snout to vent 43 mm. The dorsum is rufous brown with many black spots usually on the warts. The belly is fleshy-purple like that of Kaloula. The color of the dorsal sides of the limbs is similar to that of the back. pupil black and oyal bertical. The iris is golden stippled with black. Viscera con be seen through the skin of the belly.
