外形特征Description
黄腹花蜜鸟身长10-12厘米。雄鸟颏及胸金属黑紫色，有绯红及灰色胸带，具艳橙黄色丝质羽的肩斑，上体橄榄绿色，繁殖期后金属紫色缩小至喉中心的狭窄条纹。雌鸟无黑色，上体橄榄绿色，下体黄，通常具浅黄色的眉纹。虹膜为深褐色；嘴及脚为黑色。

黄腹花蜜鸟交配季节在4-8月份，每巢产卵2-3枚，呈蓝绿色，孵化期7-10天。雏鸟由雌雄共同喂养，2-3周后可离巢。
